Recreation Reservations
DAY PARKS & RESERVATIONS

All Parks are open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to be guaranteed use of the pavilions, reservations are recommended. Parks available to reserve are McCarthy and Krampe Parks.

Parks that aren't currently able to be reserved are Schmeid and Bass Lake, nor is the Carl Paepke Flat River Nature Park.

DAY PARKS

 McCarthy Park - Located on M-91 north of Greenville between Turk Lake and Langston.

 DESCRIPTION:  Features an abundance of shade trees and woodland nature trails with frontage on the picturesque Flat River.  It offers three covered pavilions.  Amenities include a 56’x64’ pavilion and two – 28’x32’ pavilions, picnic tables and charcoal grills, playground equipment, nature trails, parking, and restrooms.

 The Rental Fee:  The large, center pavilion is $100 for full use or $50.00 for only half of the pavilion per day.  The rental fee for the two smaller pavilions, north, and south, is $50 per day.  The rental fee for the area of eight picnic tables on the grounds, not under the pavilion, is $40.00.  Rental fees are for the entire day, from sunrise to sunset.

 Krampe Park - Located south of Amble on Church Road between Masters and Amble Roads.

 DESCRIPTION:  This park covers prime recreation land with large shade trees and frontage on Winfield Lake.  Amenities include a boat launch, large pavilion, picnic tables, and charcoal grills, playground equipment, parking, and restrooms.

 The Rental Fee:  The pavilion is $100.00 for full use or $50.00 for half.  The rental fee for an area of eight picnic tables, not under the pavilion, is $40.00.  Rental fees are for the entire day, from sunrise to sunset.

 Schmeid Park - Located on the north side of Townline Lake; intersection of Robin Drive and Caroline Drive.

 DESCRIPTION:  The park offers areas for varied recreation with large shade trees and frontage on peaceful and scenic Townline Lake.  Recreational activities and amenities include playground equipment, a basketball court, picnic tables and grills, parking and restrooms.

 This park has no rental fee, is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is open from sunrise to sunset.

 Bass Lake - Located south of M-46 (Howard City-Edmore Road) on east Vestaburg Road.

 DESCRIPTION:  This park offers a great place for picnicking and there’s a small boat launch area to enjoy great fishing.  The lake covers approximately a 100-acre surface area.  Bass Lake is located in the southwest corner of Richland Township.

Park and Public Access – this park has no rental fee, is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and is open from sunrise to sunset.

 Carl Paepke Flat River Nature Park - Located on south Johnson Road, ½ mile south of Sidney Road in Gowen.

DESCRIPTION:  This nature park offers a quiet, pristine and fenced nature area with two walking trails, one is eight tenths (0.8) of a mile lone and one is one mile and eight tenths (1.8) miles long.  It has 4,200 feet of frontage on the beautiful Flat River, not far from McCarthy Park.

 This park has no rental fees and is open from sunrise to sunset.

 All day park cancellations must be made, in writing, thirty (30) days prior to the reservation date.  There will be no refunds for cancellations which are made less than thirty (30) days before the reservation date.
