NEW Hours of Operation:  Monday - Thursday 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday

The Mission for Montcalm County Animal Control is to enforce all state and federal laws as well as county ordinances, to operate a facility that houses and cares for stray and unwanted animals until returned to their owners, adopted or when necessary, humanely euthanized, as well as protect the citizens of our community and educate them in such areas as disease control and responsible pet ownership.

Our department maintains general patrol of the entire county to pick up stray dogs, issue citations on loose and unlicensed dogs, capture and contain aggressive or dangerous dogs as well as investigate animal cruelty. The Entire department is staffed with 1 part-time Animal Control Officer and the full-time Animal Control Director. Occasionally, the office is unmanned if an emergency arises and both employees are needed.

Montcalm County Animal Control also operates as a Michigan Department of Agriculture registered Animal Shelter for companion animals from all of Montcalm County. Several services are available to the community such as pet adoptions, microchip and vaccine clinics, educational seminars for schools and groups as well as many great volunteer opportunities.
