Effective Monday, June 1, 2020, the County Clerk's Vital Records/Elections Office is open to walk in customers. Anyone entering the Administration Building must wear a mask and will be greeted at the west entrance of the building by a Rescue Attendant. You will be asked health screening questions and will be required to leave your name, phone number and email address should we have to contact you.
We are once again able to accept new CPL filings. After application is made with the County Clerk, an appointment must be made with the Sheriff for fingerprinting by calling 989-831-7590. CPL Renewals can be done in person at the County Clerk's office or online at https://cplrenewal.msp.state.mi.us/CPLOnline/#!/.
Inquiries for vital records or elections information can be emailed to email@example.com. For those needing to obtain a candidate packet for school board or village offices, you may pick up packets in person, or one will be mailed to you upon request.
The Circuit Court Clerk's Office is staffed M - F from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. however, the Court Complex is only open to the public Monday's and Friday's from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. and Wednesdays 1 - 3 p.m. Due to the limited hours the Court Complex is open, filings are encouraged via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or fax 989-831-3535, and payment should be made via GovPayNow. Clerk's staff will answer phone calls and process requests received via email and regular mail, and documents will be mailed out as long as payment is made via GovPayNow or a check or money order is received. The Building is only open to those that have a court hearing scheduled or those needing a PPO.
To order a birth certificate DO NOT use any of the links associated with our home page! These are scams! Instead use the link on the left entitled Certificates, Licenses and Forms. You can only obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate from the county clerk in the county in which you were born or the Department of Community Health in Lansing. Any other service is a scam.
Elections Results can be found by clicking on the Elections tab. Results will be updated as they arrive in the office.
The Vital Records/Elections office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday's from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The office is CLOSED Tuesday and Thursday due to lack of staffing.
The Circuit Court Clerk's Office is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m - 4 p.m.
