Effective August 16, 2021, The Friend of the Court office hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, open during the lunch hour.

The Friend of the Court (FOC) is a part of the family division of the Circuit Court.  The Friend of the Court enforces the orders of the Circuit/Family Court in domestic relations actions where minor children are involved.  The orders may involve child support payments, visitation, custody, insurance, etc. and assist in the establishment and enforcement of family domestic relations orders regarding child support, custody, and parenting time.

This website is intended to provide you with general information and forms regarding FOC proceedings in Montcalm County.  The FOC and its staff are prohibited by law from providing legal advice and assistance in completing forms.  The information, forms, and instructions are intended to provide general information concerning filing procedures and may be useful as a guide.  This is the only assistance that can be provided by the court's staff.  NOTE:  Fees are charged for the filing of many forms and motions.  If, after reviewing this information, you have any questions or need assistance in completing the forms, consider contacting an attorney for assistance.

Any suspected abuse/neglect regarding the safety and wellbeing of a child/ren must be immediately reported to the Department of Human Services-Child Protective Service unit. The FOC does not have any ANY authority to act on abuse/neglect allegations. Their phone number is 1-855-444-3911.
