The Board of Canvassers finalized the canvass of the November 5, 2024 General Election on Monday, November 18, 2024.

Recounts:  Anyone wishing to petition for a recount of the November 5, 2024 General Election results must file a petition for recount within 6 days following the certification of the canvass.  Since certification will take place on November 18th, the deadline to file for a recount will be on November 25th at 4 p.m.  A deposit must be paid at the time of filing the petition.  The State's Recount Manual can be found here. 

Greenville City Councilperson Recount is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 9 a.m.  The recount will take place in the Probate Court Jury Room in the Montcalm County Court Complex.  Entry to the Jury Room is on the south side of the building.  The entry door will be marked with a sign.  Meeting Notice

All unofficial results are final at 1:15 a.m. 

All election results are unofficial until the Board of Canvassers certify the results.  The canvassers meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The polls close at 8 p.m. and results have to be driven to Stanton for uploading.  In some cases travel times can be significant.  Results will be posted as they are delivered to the county on Election Night. 

Early Voting results have been uploaded at 9:45 p.m. therefore results are showing in every precinct.  That does NOT mean that the precincts are final.  They are NOT.  More results will be posted as they are recieved.  In the Canvass Report it shows columns for Election Day, Absentee and Early Voting.  The precinct is final when it shows Election Day Results.  Absentee results are tallied with the Election Results in all precincts except Pierson and Reynolds who have absentee counting boards.

The Board of Canvassers will meet at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in the Probate Court Jury Room to begin the canvass.  The canvass may continue several days until completed.
