County Commissioner Seats

All 9 County Commissioner seats are up for election in 2020. Candidates must file with the Montcalm County Clerk no later than Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 4 pm.

All filings must include a Statement of Organization, completed City/Township Nominating Petitions and a Statement of Organization. Candidates are able to pay a $100 filing fee in lieu of petitions. That filing fee is refunded if the candidate receives the nomination or places second in the race.

Petition forms can be obtained from the Montcalm County Clerk's Vital Records/Elections Office located at 211 W Main Street, Stanton, MI on Monday, Wednesday or Friday's from 8 am to noon. Hours and days may vary due to election filing deadlines and state required training.

Due to the Governor's Stay at Home Order until May 1, 2020, candidates may email us for packets to be mailed to them or to make an appointment to file for office. The Clerk's office is staffed Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 am to Noon. The office will also be staffed from 8 am to 4 pm on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, to accept filings. The building is closed to the public, therefore appointments must be made via email so we can meet you out front.
