By Michigan court rule, all fines, costs and payments are due on the date of disposition (sentencing). You should begin saving for these fines now.
In many cases the Judge will order the following:
State Fines
- Misdemeanors $50 and $68 for a Felony - each count depending on the type of offense.
- Crime Victim's Rights Assessment fee - $25
County Court Costs & Fines
- Felony $200 ($100 Fines and $100 Costs)
- Misdemeanor $100 ($50 Fines and $50 Costs)
Restitution may be ordered and the amount depends upon the victim's loss as determined by the court. The juvenile and the supervisory parent at the time of the offense are required to pay restitution.
Attorney fees may be ordered if a court-appointed attorney is appointed to your case. If you retained your own attorney - this does not apply to you.
Reimbursement will be sought for the costs of out-of-home placements, counseling services, drug testing and/or any other services provided to the youth.
Fees may be paid by cash, check or money order, Visa, Mastercard, Discover. $40 fee for returned checks
