Notary Public Information

To apply for a Notary, applicants need to obtain a Notary Bond. These can be purchased at most Insurance Agencies. The bond and application must be filed with the County Clerk in the County you reside. A fee of $10 will be required at the time of filing. Once filed with the County Clerk the application and another fee of $10 is then sent by the applicant to the State of Michigan.

Applications are no longer provided at the County Clerk's office. As on 7/23/2023, The Office of The Great Seal has updated their applications online, and are requiring applicants to fill it out online, print it off and bring it to the County Clerk's Office.
